What is iSorted?
iSorted is an online platform where people can publish original content online and generate revenue through Google Ads.

Why would I want to write for iSorted?
To make money, silly. Ok, you might also be in it for the love sharing helpful information with other people, or the thrill of seeing your words published online. But really, really, don't you want to get paid? You can generate ongoing revenue by publishing content on iSorted.

How can I make money through iSorted?
There are three ways to earn revenue with iSorted.

  1. Write and publish your original content
For every page of original content you create, ads will display using your Google Adsense Account 70% of the time. You'll earn 100% of the revenue when people click on your ads.
  2. You can find out more about Google Adsense and get an account here.

  3. Refer other writers
If you refer other writers to iSorted, you'll receive 10% of their ad displays. That is, ads from your Google Adsense account will display, 10% of the time, on any pages the referred writer creates. You'll receive 100% of the revenue when people click on your ads.
  4. The referred writer will still have their ads display 70% of the time on their pages, and will receive 100% of the revenue for clicks on their ads.

  5. Refer visitors
You can refer people to any page, created by any user, on iSorted and receive 10% of ad displays where the visit is a result of someone clicking on your referral link.

What is iSorted's revenue sharing structure?
We have what we think is a very fair, very transparent revenue sharing structure. Here's how it works:

On every content page you create...
Adds from your Google Adsense account will display 70% of the time.
The other 30% of ad displays are shared between iSorted, the writer who referred you to iSorted (if any, they get 10% of ad displays on all pages you create) and anyone who refers web visitors to view your articles (if any, they get 10% of ad displays on pages where the visit is a direct result of their referral).

How do I get paid for my content and referrals?
You get paid for your ad clicks on your iSorted pages through Google Adsense, using the payment method and frequency/threshold you set up in your Adsense account.

Can I find out how many people visit pages I've created?
Sure can! All you need is a (free) Google Analytics account. (If you don't have one, you can get one here.)

Just add your Google Analytics tracking code when you create your iSorted account. If you already have an iSorted account, add the code by selecting ‘Edit my account info' on your ‘My iSorted' account page.

How much money can I make with iSorted?
How much you get paid will mostly depend on how many people click your ads on the pages you publish, the pages written by writers you've referred and the pages you've referred web visitors to. With iSorted, you have the potential to make an unlimited amount of money.

Will you make enough to quit your day job and live a life of luxury? Probably not. Google Adsense don't reveal the exact amount they pay for ad clicks. How much you get paid depends a how ‘in demand' the topic of the content is with advertisers and how popular your page is with web visitors. The best way to see how much you will make is to sign up and give iSorted a try.

Who can write and publish articles for iSorted?
Anyone. Yes, even you! You don't have to be a trained writer or a recognised expert on any topic. If you have something to say about something you think people will be interested in, iSorted is a great place to test out your writing because it's free to join and free to publish, so there's no risk. Plus, you can get paid, which we think is pretty cool.

What can I write about?
Anything you want, as long as it's not defamatory, libellous, plagiarised, invasive of privacy, vulgar, obscene, hateful, promoting of violence or cruelty, or otherwise illegal. You'll also need to make sure you comply with the Google AdSense Program Policies.

Most people write articles and how-to guides. You can also write stories (fiction or non-fiction), poetry and pretty much anything else you think people will want to read.

Can you give me some topic ideas?
Sure. Check out our title suggestions [link]

What if someone already wrote about a topic I want to write about?
Just like no two snowflakes are the same, no two writers will have the same thing to say on any topic (unless they're plagiarising - which is a big no-no!). If you think you have something valuable, interesting, entertaining or helpful to say about a topic someone's already written about, as long as you have a unique point of view, go for it.

How long should my articles be?
At least 350 words, please. 500 to 800 words is ideal. Anything over that is fine too.

How does content review/approval process work?
All content is reviewed by a real person before it's published on iSorted. Don't worry, your piece doesn't have to be perfect or brilliant (though it's great if it is) - the reviewer's job is to ensure that the content you submit:

  • has a clear, concise title that reflects what the content is about
  • is tagged with keywords that relate to the subject
  • is at least 350 words in length
  • is written in English, with minimal spelling and grammar errors (none at all would be great!)
  • doesn't contain anything inappropriate (anything defamatory, vulgar, libelous, illegal, and such)
  • isn't plagarised or copyright infringing.

When you submit a page to be published, it will be reviewed by a real person and either accepted (and published) or rejected within one week. You will receive an e-mail notification when your pages are accepted or rejected.

Who owns the content I publish on iSorted?
It's all yours. We just provide the technology that allows you to publish it for free. Aren't we nice?
